70% of the world cases of Paludism are in subtropical Africa.
The saheliane area retained within the framework of ACCIES project is an unstable zone of Paludism (hypoendemic) with:
- not of collective immunity
- morbidity at any age; resistance ++ (consommation of anti paludic)).
One can oppose it to the tropical rural regions which are zones of stable Paludism (hyper and holoendemic) with:
- collective immunity
- infantile morbidity ++
The two zones of study in Africa sahélienne are:
